No, but really, Houdini is one of the most clearly sung songs on the album.

Welllll I sort of agree. Although raise up to your ability IS pretty clear and easily understood, there’s some parts in the album version where he’s saying nothing even close to what he says when you hear him on say, an acoustic version.
Here’s how that whole part sounds on the album:
Raise up to your ability
You never knew that I could find
What thacome when they realize
Don’t no one want to compromise
Raise up to your ability
Yeah I’m scared but I’ll disappear
Runnin’ around before I comyeaseah
Like he’s someone who lost his way
Raise up to your ability
I know that you wanna
throsimpatothisee ofmofability
Raise up to your ability
Yeah you undecided
Ayy so I’ll seeda
I don’t want toomadaway
Here’s how that whole part sounds on the acoustic version:
Raise up to your ability
Never knew that I could find
What would come when they realize
I don’t want to compromise
Raise up to your ability
Can’t stand when I disapeee
Runnin’ around ‘cause I’m filled with feee
And I can’t go ‘cause my life’s a wreck
Raise up to your ability
I know that you wanna
Throw me into the sea
For my ability
Raise up to your ability
Yeah do undecided
I just wanna leave ya
I don’t wanna run away
Honestly I think he gets confused too. There’s really no way of knowing exactly what he’s saying because in the torches booklet it doesn’t have those lyrics which again leads me to believe that they’re not set in stone and he changes them for that song whenever he feels like it. Of course, Mark Foster isn’t generally one to make it a point to make his lyrics well understood. But that’s just another thing I love about him.

^Thank you.

Haa sorry guys I can’t tell AT ALL what he’s saying in the recorded version. In the acoustic or live it’s way easier.

I know that you wanna
Throw me into the sea
For my ability
God, I love those lyrics.
